About the Artist
In her paintings, Gnott attempts to capture the significance and reality of one moment in time and to study what appear to be the mundane objects of life, to explore the minute details and to vividly express them on paper. “When people see my work, they often feel a sense of warmth and nostalgia, remembering back to simpler times.” While Gnott’s subjects are commonplace, her paintings are anything but. They show a mastery of light and shadow, and they have an emotional quality that can be felt as well as seen. Gnott continues to develop her skills and challenges herself with every painting she does, and the collectors of her work have come to expect this exceptional quality. She has earned signature status in the Watercolor Honor Society, and her paintings consistently appeal in watercolor exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
While her talent and creative abilities continue to win accolades across the country, her true gratification comes from watching people enjoy the treasures she creates. She continues to reside in South Bend, Indiana with her black German Shepherd, Bellarina.
